Article accepted for publication: Brain-Computer Interfaces

We are proud to announce that our review article “Neurolinguistic and machine-learning perspectives on direct speech BCIs for restoration of naturalistic communication” was accepted for publication in Brain-Computer Interfaces on May 11 2017. This article
describes developments in neurolinguistic and brain-computer interface (BCI) research on speech production conducted with the help of electrocorticographic signals, and it highlights the importance of non-experimental conditions of investigation to develop functional BCI devices to restore communication in the daily life of paralysed patients.
